An installation show with painted walls and the flow of traffic directed by the positioning of 12-foot tubular forms, suspended inches off the floor. Subdued ambient lighting allowed for featured lights on the crucial features of the defining forms.
The scale of the forms here was intended to create the sensation of being a small child among trees, or a fish in a kelp forest.
The tubes were constructed from sheets of cardboard and fashioned to be featureless. The clean lines were set against walls graded from sky blue to deep violet, imitating the diminishing of sunlight at depth, underwater.
The tower forms were suspended at varying heights above the floor to render them immaterial and suggest the idea of a tower, unmoored from its foundation.
The tops of the towers were lit from within to evoke ancient habitations- to summon the image of a candle in the window of a dwelling we do not have the language to name.
